YouTube is one of the most popular video-sharing websites in the world. Millions of people create content daily, so you can find pretty much anything you want or need. However, besides some solid content, there is also something called “the weird part of the web” where people make absurd, disturbing or just simply weird videos. The problem is that a whole section of these videos are aimed at kids, specifically pre-school children. A YouTuber from the channel Folding Ideas tried to explain this phenomenon of what he calls Weird Kids Videos and Gaming Algorithm. The video is quite informative and coherently put together with just a touch of humor.
Weird Kids Videos
The creator of the video came to a conclusion that a single company creates all those weird kids videos and distributes them through a host of similar channels in an effort to grab millions of views without getting banned for spamming. It sounds like a professional scheme that YouTube is aware of but chooses not to react, mainly because it still benefits them. It doesn’t seem fair that the main providers of all these views are actually pre-school kids who watch these videos mainly because of the colors and sounds. It doesn’t bother them that the videos are generically made and almost identical. Check out all other details in the video above.
