It seems that nowadays, a lot of articles on the web aim to frighten the young and potential parents by listing all the downsides and life-changing consequences of being a parent. However, a Huffington Post blogger, Amanda Haas, decided to put a stop to this trend and list some positive things about the experience. What do you think she considers to be parenting perks? She is a registered nurse with a full-time teaching job, career as a blogger and three young kids. If there’s anyone who can tell you about the benefits of being a mom, it’s Amanda. So, here’s what she has to say.

Parenting Perks: Benefits of Being a Mom
5. Red Carpet Exit
One of the first things Amanda lists in her article is what she calls a “red carpet exit.” What is it? Well, when you’re a busy parent, your child always comes first and as tiring as it can be, it’s also a great excuse. For example, whenever you don’t want to be somewhere, you can simply use your toddler’s needs as an excuse to leave the dreadful situation. This is probably not something you should use frequently, but there’s no doubt that it can be useful.
4. Food over Fun, Always
You know how they say that you should have at least 5 meals per day in order to be healthy? Well, when you have a child, you can munch along with it whenever you want and not feel condemning looks of other people. The baby needs to eat! Of course, the baby’s mom is also human and deserves her snack so leave her be.
If you’d like to find out what her three other parenting perks are, you can do it right here. Remember to thank her every time you manage to use one of her excuses to please yourself.
