In the much anticipated announcement this year, Kate Middleton and Prince William have just welcomed a baby…and it’s a boy!
The mom-to-be was in labor early Monday morning and was admitted to the St. Mary’s Hospital in West London. The baby, born 8 lbs. 6 oz. arrived in the private Lindo wing, the same area where husband Prince William was born to the late Princess Diana.
The birth announcement was done via the traditional method of posting the baby’s details on a board outside the Buckingham Palace.
“Best wishes to them, a very exciting occasion and the whole country is excited with them. Everyone’s hoping for the best,” Prime Minister David Cameron said in a statement.
This is the first baby for the couple, and the new addition will now be third in line for the throne. He will be addressed as His Royal Highness, Prince of Cambridge.
Welcome Little Prince!
