A little over a year after welcoming Little Prince George, Kate Middleton and Prince William are now expecting their second baby together.
The news was confirmed after the couple shared the secret with the royal family.
“William and Kate told their parents the news this weekend,” a source tells US Weekly. “The Queen and Prince Philip were given the good news on Sunday morning. Everyone is delighted.”
The palace also released the formal confirmation, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
A spokesperson would not confirm the due date, but said that Middleton was not yet at the 12-week mark.
Like her first pregnancy, the Duchess has been experiencing acute morning sickness, forcing the palace to make an early formal announcement of the good news.
Congratulations to the couple!
