A 5-year-old girl calls 911 after her mom started choking. The one catch? The little girl thought that it was her dad on the other line.
“Daddy? Hello? Daddy, mommy’s choking,” Chloe Olson told the 911 dispatcher, as she proceeded to describe what was happening. As the little girl left the door open for the rescue officials, she ended the 911 call by saying, “Love you. Bye.”
After hanging up the phone, Chloe quickly went to her mom’s side and reassured her. “Daddy’s on the way,” she said.
By the time officials had arrived, Chloe’s mom, Kerry Olson had already stopped choking. However, officials are impressed by the way the little girl handled the pressure.
“You could tell she was a little concerned and scared,” recalled police officer John Ward. “She still knew enough to talk to the dispatchers, work it through.”
So how did Chloe know to call 911? Her school showed the students a music video with the lyrics, “When there’s big trouble and you’re all alone, don’t be scared; pick up the phone – and dial 911.”
