Mom Saves Baby as Stroller Rolls on Train Tracks (Video)
A 14-month-old girl in a stroller fell onto the train tracks at a Philly station last week. Caught on video, the girl’s mother quickly jumped down the tracks and was able to rescue her baby with the help of fellow bystanders.
“What it looks like to us is that the mother became distracted by something, didn’t apply the brake on the stroller and the stroller was able to move off the platform and onto the tracks,” recounted Scott Sauer from the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
Luckily for the mom who quickly jumped down the platform, other passengers ran to help the pair. The baby was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and only sustained a minor cut on her forehead.
Sauer emphasized that the accident serves to remind parents to lock stroller brakes when waiting for the train. The line where the incident occurred is one of SEPTA’s busiest terminals with trains running every 6-10 minutes.
