Kidnapped Teen Hannah Anderson Breaks Silence in Social Media
After a long nationwide ordeal that led to her eventual rescue, Hannah Anderson finally spoke up about what happened and how she is coping with her family’s loss.
On August 4, Anderson was kidnapped by James Lee DiMaggio, her father’s best friend. DiMaggio tricked the family into visiting him in his home.
“He told us he was losing his house because of money issues so we went up there one last time to support him, and to have fun riding go karts up there but he tricked us,” Hannah recalled, writing in her social media account in ask.fm.
Once there, DiMaggio tied up and eventually killed her mother, Christina Anderson, 44 and her younger brother Ethan, 8.
“I wish I could go back in time and risk my life to try and save theirs. I will never forgive myself for not trying harder to save them,” she also wrote.
After leaving the home, Hannah added that she was awake for 6 days and was afraid to escape since DiMaggio threatened to kill her and anyone who tried to help.
When officials found them, DiMaggio was shot at least five times and killed. “He deserved what he got,” Hannah firmly said.
