8-year-old Jillian Thomas was feeding the dolphins at Sea World when one of the animals bit her arm and nearly dragged her into the water.
Jillian who had a huge love for dolphins may change her tone after a trip to Sea World. The girl was feeding the animals at the park’s Dolphin Cove. Unfortunately, the little girl didn’t heed the park warnings and decided to lift the dolphin food plate in the air.
Out of excitement, one dolphin accidentally bit down on Jillian’s arm instead of his food, leaving a set of three puncture wounds on her arm.
Jillian’s parents will not sue the park, but they are furious over the trivialization of the incident.
“We had to ask for Band-Aids and [the employee] kind of thought it was cute that we wanted Band-Aids on something that they thought wasn’t a big deal,” recalled Amy Thomas, Jillian’s mother.
“Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our guests, employees and animals,” a Sea World representative later said. “Educators and animal care staff were at the attraction when this happened and immediately connected with the family.”
