A 9-year old girl’s laptop was seized during a raid by the Finnish police, after the family was accused of illegally downloading music.
The CIAPC anti-piracy group sent a notice to the girl’s dad to pay a $750 fine for alleged piracy charges. The group blocks “The Pirate Bay”, a site that allows illegal music sharing among users.
Ignoring the notices, the family was then subjected to a surprise police raid on Tuesday morning. As part of the search, the suspect, a 9-year-old girl was accused of piracy, and her Winnie-the-Pooh-adorned laptop was seized by police as evidence.
The daughter was apparently trying to download artist Chisu’s latest album, but was unsuccessful in doing so. The father then explained that he took his daughter to buy the album the next day.
No word as to the fate of the laptop or the little Chisu fan. The artist herself, Chisu has spoken out against the agency and apologized to all her fans.
