4-Year-Old Boy Confronts Nairobi Attacker; Man Begs for Forgiveness
4-year-old Elliott Prior was in the Westgate mall with his mom and sister when the shopping center was besieged by Islamic attackers.
Without fear, the boy approached one of the masked men and told him that he was “a very bad man”. Taken aback, the militant handed him some Mars chocolate bars and said, “Please forgive me, we are not monsters.”
The family was allowed to escape, and the children’s mother also grabbed a 12-year-old whose own mother had been shot and killed during theattack.
“They had a lucky escape,” explained Elliott’s uncle Alex Coutts. “The terrorists said if any kids were alive in the supermarket they could leave. Amber made a decision to stand up and say, ‘Yes’.
“He told me I had to change my religion to Islam and said, ‘Do you forgive us?’” Elliott’s mother Amber also recounted.
